Shape Correction of the Female Breast

The shape of the female breast can deviate from the norm in an unsightly manner because of a congenital malformation. The nipples can be in a retracted position (inverted nipples), the development of the breasts can be asymmetrical or involve supernumerary breasts and/or nipples, the shape of the breast itself can be tubular or exhibit marked deficits, through to an absence of the breast as observed in the Poland syndrome. In the latter case, the pectoral muscle underneath may also be missing, or the upper extremity can be underdeveloped.

Various different surgical procedures can be applied to remediate all these problems, and will lead to a considerable improvement of the breast's aesthetic appearance. Extensive deficits can either be remedied by the insertion of silicone breast implants, or also by transferring own tissue.
